These
color coded, quick disconnect plugs and jacks provide reliable and quick
connection between thermocouples and their extension wires or other terminals.
The
plug socket bodies are molded from glass filled nylon compounds which have very
high impact resistance and also high temperature stability. These assemblies can
withstand ambient temperatures upto 200°C
(600°C
for ceramic body) without deformation or burning. The
assemblies are color for quick and positive identification of thermocouple
calibration type.
All
metal parts of the connectors which are in contact with the thermocouple wires
or terminals are made out of the corresponding thermo electric alloy which meets
ANSI grade calibration. This arrangement eliminates introduction of spurious
junction emf’s in the temperature measuring circuit, thus assuring high
accuracy of measurement.
Prongs
and inserts are of unequal sizes. This polarized design, eliminates possibility
of incorrect polarity connection, once wires are connected. Body of Plug /
Socket is marked with appropriate polarity sign.
Female
socket insert are spring loaded and promote positive contact with the male
prong. This eliminates contact resistance problems. The connection or
disconnection of plug and socket has a self wiping action preventing build up of
oxide on metal parts of the connector.
